Care Factor Workshop

This year on August the 3 rd the AMSS is running its inaugural Care Factor Workshop. Adapted from AMSA’s popular workshop, the evening aims to equip you with ways to manage and discuss the different problems that can arise with your own wellbeing and others.

But why on earth is this important to me you may ask?! Well, the fact is medical students consistently have higher rates compared to the general population of:
  • Stress
  • Burnout
  • Anxiety
  • AND depression
Furthermore, a recent study showed that 19.2% of medical students had experienced suicidal thoughts in the last year. Stress, burnout, anxiety and depression may not affect you directly, but it may affect one of your friends. So come along to the workshop and discuss some of these problems over 6 specialized stations. As a community let’s gain an understanding and awareness about these issues and work together to support one another!
