The AMSF Travel Scholarships were introduced to enhance the elective experience of senior medical students by providing an opportunity for experiences not otherwise possible in everyday clinical situations.
They are awarded to students who can demonstrate their electives will be beneficial both personally and professionally. Personal development may include but is not limited to: new experiences, expanding personal boundaries, community engagement and international relationships. Professional development may include but is not limited to: educational knowledge, exposure to techniques/equipment and cultural awareness
The Foundation awards a number of Travel Scholarships annually from a competitive field of applicants, with each successful applicant receiving a total of $1,000.00 towards their educational elective.

First Year Prize
On entering medical school, all first year medical students receive a small welcome gift courtesy of the AMSF. An AMSF Pen-torch is provided to each new student, to help them learn the art of clinical skills.
All first year students are also placed in a draw to win a stethoscope. The Foundation has a small presentation during Orientation Week and it is during this presentation that the lucky recipient of the stethoscope is drawn.
The AMSF wants all medical students, both current and new, to benefit from the AMSF and become involved with the AMSF throughout their time at medical school. We would like all first year medical students to know from their very first day that the AMSF exists solely to support them.
