CALENDAR SEASON 2011
Over the years, we’ve taken our bold ideas and talent to many stages, halls and theatres. This time, our stage is set to explore the meticulous details of another theatre, the operating theatre.
The performance AUMO in Operation is set to be an astonishing combination of music, multimedia, drama and the creative arts. We’ve carefully dissected our appreciation of the influences and creative geniuses from the times gone by, and have added a multitude of elements to stage an enthralling form of theatre. Join us this May 2011.
For more information or ticket sales for this performance in May 2011, please visit this page or www.aumo.org.au for updates from April 2011.

The audience were invited to be test subjects at our extravaganza of music and the creative arts, set amongst the majestic splendour of the Adelaide Town Hall. Everyone enjoyed each dose of aural and visual preparations that were carefully crafted in the confines of the AUMO labs.
The programme included:
Orchestra Classical Materpieces & Film Music
Classic Big Band and Jazz Shorts
The Vocal Group/A Cappella combined with the Adelaide University Choral Society; over 100 voices accompanied the Orchestra to present mesmerising and defining works
The Hip Hop Dance Crew presented THE BEAT LAB, leaving everyone in awe. In addition, The Pianists saw the piano being played like you’ve never seen before!
All funds raised goes to support the Tullawon Health Service in the Yalata community. The funds went towards building a playground and garden area at the recently built Parenting Centre, and musical instruments purchased for the Men’s Health Centre.
Our 2009 Premiere Performance AUMOgenesis: the Birth of Sound was a groundbreaking sellout event at the 650 seat Scott Theatre
Audiences were delighted as they were propelled through a spectacle of awe and wonder. With the vast variety and diversity of repertoire, there was something for everyone. Both musicians’ and audience’s perspective of music was challenged and broadened through a unique and vivacious culmination of music and other facets of the creative arts.
A Raffle and Silent Auction was held, with all funds raised supporting the Global Health Group Insight’s Net Attack mosquito net project and the Cambodia World Family Aid Project.
Program highlights included everything from Coldplay to Classics; a near-complete rendition of The Carnival of the Animals (Saint-Säens) and excerpts from the powerful score to The Lord Of The Rings film soundtrack roused the audience early on in the performance. The Vocal Ensemble and Stage Band both stunned the crowd with old favourites and more contemporary numbers: the Vocal Ensemble kicked off with Deep River and I'm a Believer, followed by the Stage Band's slick playing and phenomenal solos in Chameleon and In The Mood. The recital finished with a bang as the audience was treated to an Orchestral and Dance Crew collaboration medley of Hip-Hop pieces from the artists Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Fort Minor and Mary J. Bligh.
A great success, everyone involved and the audience are awaiting the next exciting AUMO instalment.
