Dear All,
Thank you very much for contributing to the Fifth Year survey on the end-of-year OSCE. The results are summarised in the document available for viewing and download below. This has been sent to the University for distribution to the Assessment Committee.
We are aware that there is a significant amount of concern about the end-of-year OSCE for Fifth Year in 2011. We understand that student concerns particularly relate to (1) the long delay between the second and third day of the examination, and (2) the delay in releasing results from the first two days of the examination. These views were expressed in a letter to Dr Paul Duggan (Chair, Assessment Committee) which is attached at the bottom of this webpage for your perusal. The response from Dr Duggan has been made available on the Medicine Learning and Teaching Unit.
The Faculty have not been able to change these unpopular aspects of the examination and therefore the AMSS will re-raise these issues at the start of 2012 to try to ensure that they are addressed well in advance in the future. Please feel free to contact Tom Crowhurst (thomas.crowhurst@gmail.com) or Karthik Venkataraman (vpe@amss.org.au) at any time about this issue.
Kind regards,
Your AMSS
