Daina Rudaks (V)
As one of the most well-developed medical student societies in Australia, the AMSS has a responsibility; a responsibility to maintain the high standard of advocacy, events, and spirit, and to protect the AMSS’ future. However, beyond events or meetings, involvement in advocacy, or the words in our official documents, there exist endless opportunities – opportunities to learn, to teach; opportunities to up-skill, to take on something great. In 2012, these opportunities should be expanded, promoted and hopefully snatched up, to ensure the AMSS continues along its successful path, with knowledge retained, spirit in tow, and ever more students involved.
Karthik Venkataraman (Hons)
The AMSS exists to serve its members. To do this, the AMSS must have an engaged committee. As president, it would be my goal to engage the committee and allow them to shape their portfolio to suit their vision. In my role on the AMSS executive this year, I have had an insight into committee management and have strategies to further empower committee members. In the end, I believe a happy committee equals a happy membership. I thank you all for your consideration and hope to see you at AGM.
Shane Selvanderan (III)
I have a strong interest in both education and representation. Whilst excellent headway has been made in terms of advocacy this year, there is still much change needed in the Medical Program and I would relish the opportunity to direct Team Education to achieve this aim. My involvement in Team Education over the last two years, firstly as an Ed Rep and then as the Junior Education Officer means that I will be well-placed to follow up on pre-existing issues in the medical school as well as have the experience to advocate strongly for students when the need arises.
Katherine Watson (V)
In 2011 I’ve had the pleasure of introducing multiple new initiatives as Philanthropy Officer and serving as REDParty Co-Convenor. Introducing a REDParty subcommittee and our 50+ strong RED Army created opportunities to actively upskill and involve students whilst giving me hands-on experience in events management, marketing and effective leadership. As Publications Officer in 2010 I successfully coordinated the committee and wider student community to ensure the timely release of AMSS publications. In 2012, I hope to employ a similarly systematic approach to advertising to ease the workload of committee members and continue developing new ways to upskill and engage others.
Lisa Mary Raven (III)
The AMSS is unique for its vibe, events, and camaraderie. As VP(C) I hope to build a sense of pride and ownership of the AMSS in our members. Through my contagious enthusiasm, OCD organisational skills and ability to make things look pretty, I plan to ensure that Adelaide medical students have the opportunity to get involved and are kept up to date with the happenings of the AMSS, but most importantly have fun. I have loved getting involved in the AMSS over the past few years and as a returning Exec member, I would bring experience and continuity of knowledge.
Luisa Domenique Rositano (III)
I would like to become Vice President (Communication) of the AMSS. I look forward to utilising my relevant skills and experience in the main aspects of the VPC role. My experience in project coordination, quality control and risk management will allow me to help out convenors in whatever way they need; my competence in relevant software make me particularly suited to the marketing requirements of this role; furthermore, my love for all things AMSS and AMSA means I’m really excited about the opportunity to develop merchandise and bring my ideas and enthusiasm into the role.
Thomas (Tom) Eldredge (III)
The VPC portfolio comprises 3 key areas that I will address: communication, marketing and branding. Communication – consolidation of communication pathways with members through regular meetings with Year Representatives and Clinical/Pre-Clinical Coordinators to better tailor marketing strategies to different year groups. Marketing – employ the skills and knowledge gained through Skullduggery Co-Convenorship to support AMSS event coordinators, Year Representatives and the Executive to appropriately market and promote our events in a timely manner. Branding – provide assistance in any correspondence with external bodies; ensuring professionalism and consistency of the AMSS brand both internally and externally.
Jared Fairbank (III)
I’m nominating for the position of Treasurer as finances have always been an interest of mine. Having studied accounting throughout school, I’ve developed a keen interest and feel this gives me the skills and knowledge required for this role. I’ll endeavour to provide timely and regular information to our members, ensure fiscal responsibility, improve and refine the budgeting process and continue to build the ‘Initiative Fund’. I’m also very keen to help oversee and be involved in the day-to-day running of the society, and believe I’ve the ability to connect with the entire membership base to ensure the gaudium continues!
JJ Li (II)
I love the AMSS and would be honoured to serve as Treasurer. In 2012, my (near-pathological!) OCD attention-to-detail and enthusiasm seeks to make Treasury “safer, bigger, and more grass-roots” by: increasing non-sponsorship income, leading a complete budget review, continuing AMSF expansion, and strongly expanding a student-driven Initiatives Fund. My past involvement has prepared me for the three aspects of Treasury. Accounting/Event management aspect: EdForums Convenor, Economics background, spoken to past AMSS/AURHA Treasurers. AMSF aspect: very involved with AMSF Working Party, spoken to past AMSF Directors. General Exec aspect: ODWP, Team Rep, Funding Group, AMC Survey WP, RedParty and MedCamp Helpers.
Oscar Russell (III)
The AMSS is in a sound financial position due to sensible budgeting, strict account keeping, and the development of healthy income streams with events and sponsorship. As Treasurer in 2012, I will further consolidate this position, initiate re-examination of the budget’s structure from the ground up and develop mechanisms to speed up reimbursement, account keeping and event budgetry. I co-convened MedCamp 2010 and managed the burden of increasing facilities costs whilst also ensuring the lowest ticket price for members. My two-year experience as IT Officer as online payments administrator will enable increased usage and reliability of this payment modality.

Alyssa Parsons (III)
I am passionate about the sponsorship profile as it provides a unique opportunity to gain greater insight into our industry. My experience and professional nature will enable me to build upon the relationships formed by past office bearers and continue to move the AMSS forward towards a secure financial future for the benefit of our members. My committee experience has involved numerous liaisons with professional organisations including orchestrating Medball 2010 sponsorship. I am not afraid to take a firm stance where necessary but am approachable, professional, assertive and personable and would love to represent AMSS members on the 2012 executive.
Madeleine Griguol (III)
As Sponsorship Officer for I would have three objectives: Firstly, work hard to seek out new sponsorship agreements before 2012 begins to secure at least one new major sponsor by mid-2012. Secondly, I will develop a formalised procedure on how to approach potential sponsors to empower other committee members to liaise with sponsors for their own events with my assistance. Thirdly, I will create a plan to involve and interest younger students in sponsorship. I am organised, motivated, inclusive and friendly, and as Skullduggery co-convenor I have enhanced my negotiating skills and ability to liaise at a professional level.
Sam Ellison (V)
In 2012, the AMSS will be facing its biggest sponsorship challenge of recent years. With the loss of a major, it is hugely important to the society that the portfolio is stabilised by a mature hand that knows the inner workings of the AMSS and has experience with sponsorship. I have been intimately involved with the AMSS for the past 5 years, and in 2011 co-produced a prospectus which secured over $5000 of sponsorship for Red Party. It would be an honour to be your sponsorship officer, and to help stabilise and secure the future financial security of the AMSS.
Brian Gue (II)
Hey all! I strongly believe that the AMSS exists for the benefit of its members. As such, I am nominating for Membership Officer 2012. With a background in data and event management, I feel that I am very suited for this role. Should I be successful, I would aim to maximise membership across all year levels by placing a strong focus on the AMSS introductions for each year. I would also strive to get the best possible benefits for members, including a successful pub and restaurant deal. This is the role I would prefer. Cheers!
Jess McCole (II)
John Tillet= hard act to follow. Whilst Prada suits & spontaneous hilarity aren’t my forte, I believe I am the woman to give MO a shot in 2012. How? Firstly: with MissMed & co-convening Skullduggery under my belt, I know I can host you a (insert swear-word) good PresKeg. Secondly: I have ideas on a relevant, new direction for member benefits, as well as AMSS afterparty venues. Thirdly: having hand-delivered family members the “McColeGazette”(aged 7), engaging member-mailouts would be a walk in the park. Finally: With ridic enthusiasm, I would go above & beyond what is expected of the MO...
Susanne Nicholson (III)
As 2011 Publications Officer, I have been a dedicated Committee member and have developed significant experience in aspects key to AMSS operations, including internal and external communications, sponsorship deals, marketing and publishing, and have gained a thorough understanding of our members’ needs and expectations. In 2012, I seek to expand and solidify the Membership role by significantly increasing our membership benefits deals (with an improved focus on clinical students), further maintaining drives for membership sign-ups via online payments, inclusive welcome events and frequent mail-outs, continuing the proud tradition of successful member events, and being a committed, dynamic Executive officer.
Christian Mingorance (II)
Since organising MedCamp at the start of 2011, I have been enthusiastic about being a part of the AMSS and am keen to continue this. I'm a very approachable person and would work well with the Year Reps to co-ordinate pre-clinical activities. I am also great at event planning (PubCrawl).
Morgan Pettman (II)
Pre-clinical years are absolutely critical in setting up a solid foundation of knowledge, friendship and resilience to last us throughout the rest of our degrees, and careers! As pre-clinical coordinator, I would take great pride and care in guiding and helping our pre-clin students to do just this!
Shreyas Chaudhary (II)
I would like to nominate for the position of Pre-Clinical Coordinator. I beleive I have a great relationship with students from all pre-clin years and will enjoy the challenge of maintaining the common room as I understand its true importance, being an active participant in Common Room Games. I also...

JJ Li (II)
If unsuccessful in nominating for Treasurer, I’d love to serve as Junior Ed. Being a massive nerd; I have always been heavily involved with Education issues. Past experience: University Funding Group, AMC Accreditation Survey WP, MD Caveats meeting, Medical Education Research (personally know and worked with professors on Curriculum/Assessment committees).
Josh Inglis (I)
This year as an Education Representative I have advocated on behalf of students during the AMC review and in planning the Medical School refurbishment. I would relish the opportunity to follow through on the AMC’s recommendations whilst continuing to represent students and enact positive change within the Medical School.

Candice Houda (IV)
As a seasoned executive member, past AMSA council and NLDS delegate, previous college president and a medico-political fanatic I am confident in my ability to represent AMSS Members to the AMA whilst simultaneously engaging Adelaidians with the AMA and its current advocacy actions in this senior committee role.
Annabelle Hayes (II)
“AMSA only does convention”…false. I would aim to create greater awareness of AMSA and its cohesive student services amongst the medical student cohort working in partnership with my Senior counterpart. This can be aimed particularly at the younger years where I’m actively involved in student activities.
Jelena Solujic (II)
Since my exposure to AMSA, my enthusiasm has soared to become involved in team representation and various AMSA activities. If elected I will use my skills and eagerness to ensure continued success of the Blood Drive, assist the senior representative and enhance preclinical awareness of AMSA and advocacy issues.
Candice Houda (IV)
Warm and welcoming as Hawaii and 5-0 times superior than the American version, AMSA GAI. As an “older,” experienced member with 3 conventions, 3 AMSA councils, college presidency, and NLDS I have experience, confidence, and understanding to REPRESENT, and INFORM all Adelaidians, whilst “CONNECTING” within AMSA and the Adelaide delegation.
Torgie Cox (Hons)
Attending Convention, GHC, numerous AMSA-related conferences and events and Convening the MIPS AMSA Breakfast Club event at Convention2011 has developed my love, enthusiasm and understanding of AMSA. Involvement in 7 AMSA councils has put me in an excellent position to represent the AMSS with good working relationships developed around Australia.

Kimberly Brown, Daniel Hurum, Akash Sivam (II)
Kimberly Brown, Akash Sivam and Daniel Hurem wish to nominate for the positions of Sports officers. We would like to spread our love of everything active to the medical students from sporting attire and common room games to established sports. Get fit, get involved, have fun, and be active.
Chen Gao (II)
I would like to nominate for the position of IT officer for 2012. Currently, we have one of the best student websites out there and I would love the opportunity to contribute and maintain that reputation.
Brian Gue (II)
Hey all! As fortunate members of society, I believe that helping those in need is a necessity. Therefore, I am nominating for Philanthropy Officer 2012. With previous involvement in many charities, I love getting amongst and organising fundraising. I would prefer the role of Membership Officer. Cheers!
Luisa Domenique Rositano (III)
As Philanthropy Officer of the AMSS I would devote my time and energy to various charitable projects. Relevant past experience has given me the opportunity to make contacts in relevant fields and equip me with event management skills that I would love to put to use for philanthropic causes.

Call for nominations will be put out in the coming weeks, this position is not elected'at AGM.
Alice Fitzgerald (V)
I wish to apply for rural representative because I have extensive experience with rural placements and therefore am knowledgeable and sensitive to the issues rural students have. I have had many positive rural experiences and am therefore passionate about promoting rural medicine.
Lachlan McMichael (IV)
I will use my working knowledge of the AMSS, from past roles, and understanding of the rural cohort, through my 4th year SHU rotation & as part of the 2012 rural cohort, to represent rural students next year. Plans: one-on-one communication, site outlines & AMSS representation in rural locations.
Luisa Domenique Rositano (III)
The AMSS has a wonderful heritage that covers years of traditio, spiritus, gaudium and I would love to help promote its past. As Historian I would enjoy researching both the people who have contributed over the years and the original versions of the events that we attend and love today.
Jelena Solujic (II)
If unsuccessful in nominating for AMSA Junior Rep, I would love to serve as Photographer. Although lacking flashy equipment, my keenness to attend and be involved in many events will ensure I am able to take a large range of photos encompassing many students and medical life.
Annie Hebenstreit (III)
I’m very keen to represent the amazing cohort of women that are involved in the AMSS. I would like to be WO as it looks at both social and philanthropic avenues. The AdeLadies are continuing to evolve and I would love to further the unity of girls across year levels.
Arrabella Mackay (II)
A dedicated member of the AdeLadies, this year I co-convened the inaugural bakesale/camp, in an attempt to further relationships between pre-clinical and clinical year levels. If elected, I would like to further AdeLadies by: 1. Arranging for us to be recognised as a society in our own right, and thus...
Georgie Hanus (IV)
As Women’s Officer I would be dedicated to uniting girls of all year levels through a variety of activities and events. I love the AMSS. I love the AdeLadies (heaps). And I would love the opportunity to further build the AdeLadies culture and cement its place in the Med School.
Jess Dalwood (I)
I’m organized, creative, and love planning/running events. I’m outgoing, and have been heavily involved in the Adeladies version of Cascade (SERARLS) since its commencement. Through that I’ve made some truly amazing friends, and I’d like to make Adeladies more accessible to other med girls to give them the same opportunity.
Morgan Pettman (II)
With so many new, upcoming initiatives from Adelaide's finest women, Women's Officer offers a dynamic and developing portfolio. This portfolio represents many exciting opportunities which I would fully embrace, to meet other Adeladies and collaborate with them in helping to further develop a strong, cohesive community of amazing women.
Joshua Lushington (II)
I would like to put my name forward for the position of Men's Officer 2012. My involvement in MedCamp this year has given me the opportunity to learn a lot about the AMSS and has budded enthusiasm for future involvement in the committee. I feel that Men's Officer would be...
