nRAH Submission

Dear All,

The construction of the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (nRAH) is moving ahead. This is an exciting time for medicine in South Australia. After a presentation to the Australian Medical Association (South Australia) by Dr David Panter and other Government representatives, it became apparent that there are currently no university student representatives on any of the space planning committees for the nRAH. This is suboptimal considering that at any one time there would be around 200 medical students at the existing RAH. Update (May 2012): we now hold a seat on the Education and Training Planning Committee, giving us the best ability to represent student views on continuing planning.

The AMSS will continue to contribute student open and to push for open and transparent student consultation to occur.
