  • You're invited to a fantastic training opportunity with the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC)!

Build your skills in promotion and recruitment and help us get thousands of people to our rally for our Pt Augusta Campaign in September. You may have seen on the news that the old coal-fired power stations at Pt Augusta are due to be closed in the next couple of years. We, as well as Alinta Energy (who own the power stations), the local government, the local community and businesses would like to see them replaced with concentrated solar thermal technology.

To build the solar plant, we need the Federal Government to chip in some funds. This means we now need to make Port Augusta a national issue. That's why 100 of us are walking 325km from Port Augusta to Adelaide in September, culminating in a huge rally on the steps of Parliament. To make this rally big enough to get national media attention - we need your help.

Can you volunteer 4 hours/week to organise the biggest solar rally in Australia's history?

On August 18-19, AYCC's amazing trainers (Leo and Kelly) are running a free training weekend in Adelaide for people who want to help make this rally a huge success.

    Volunteer Training
When: 18-19 August, from 9:30am to 5:00pm each day.
Where: University of South Australia, Lecture C3-16 on East Campus
What: A free training to meet others, gain skills and plan the huge rally
RSVP: Register for the volunteer training here

Getting thousands of people on the streets in 8 weeks is a huge undertaking -- but it's easy if we have a hundred people sign up to help. Join us as a rally volunteer
