In late November our AMSS Executive and Committee took off to Port Elliot for our annual Getaway. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a world of endless laughter and inspiring conversation 💭
Our icebreaker games quickly turned into a ruthless (but friendly!) competition, who knew medical students could be THAT competitive when it comes to paper plane competitions and Twister?
Our getaway however, wasn’t ALL games. Together with our Committee we brainstormed and discussed what our vision for 2025 was, and how we can best serve the members of this fantastic Medical School. Seeing our incredible Committee come together with their passion, experience and excitement instilled in me a lot of faith that 2025 will be a year of real change, camaraderie and fun in our community 🌈
As the sun dipped we found ourselves splashing under the stars for a late night swim, playing (surprisingly exhilarating) board games and very, very intense rounds of our Committee’s new favourite game - Sardines.
I was reminded of the innovation of this team when they completely went over my head and introduced the new President’s Prank. Let’s just say I’ll be sleeping with one eye open for the forseeable future 👁️
Alas, this getaway showed to me we are more than just a Committee; we are a family.
Here’s to 2025 and more unforgettable moments with the best team I could ask for ❤️💙💛
